The use of "Batch"
« on: February 21, 2024, 08:42:22 PM »
Can you give an detailed example of the use and consequences of "Batch", George? I suppose you can use this for example when one seeds one specimen at different times? And further? Help info about not so clear.
Very usefull should be an detailed example starting from sowing seed for example (see my task list in the zipped file) of one of the seed packets in my database, namely specie Amaranth cruentus 'Hot Biscuits'1st sowing (sown indoor for 9 april 2024, then for example 20 species + germination + 1ste transplant indoors 4 weeks later in 20 plastic pots + harding  outdoors 2 weeks later in cold frame + planting in full ground 1 week after cold frame)

Ive been working at this almost every day for a few hours at a time since this last posting!

Also introduced a new program which will give Ideas Genie Pro 6 users a very good overview of Tasks status (To do and Done).

All looking good and hope to post the updates very soon.

Thank you for sending me your Ideas Genie Pro 6 database Robert.
You've also sent me a number of "challenging cases" and we have worked together on those to test the Ideas Genie Pro 6 software.
One case was solved by using the Batch feature. I hope I have explained how to use Batches in the specimen profile screen GA100S23.

In the course of that testing, using the new program Specimens-GA629 there have been a number of changes to Ideas Genie Pro 6 lately.
To ALL members, if you have that software, please click the Help tab on your menu and run the program "Check for updates".

I'm now working on making changes to the Pots usage feature.
The Pots feature was designed for Bonsai use, where the rotation of one pot (usually an expensive and decorative item) was dedicated to hosting one Bonsai specimen at a time.
Now (download latest updates!!) that I have added all the Bonsai features to Ideas Genie Pro 6 Robert has set challenges which involve using multiple smaller pots.

More program updates to follow...

Great aprovement George.
Now I understand the use of the BATCH button.
I have used it for my seeded lathyrus odoratus varieties (seeded 8 mars 2024 in plastic pots) + I have used the batch feature. I will send you today my newest database by  https://wetransfer.com/ + email with questions/remaiks and suggestions about the BATCH feature and the Pots feature

Onderwerp: CASE STUDY: Seeding & planting & lifting 20 specimens Helianthus annuus 'Velvet Queen'

Hello George
I hope everything goes well with your family and you.
Beneath a case study IGPRO 6 with some bugs appearing.
CASE STUDY: Seeding & planting & lifting 20 specimens Helianthus annuus 'Velvet Queen'
I.History:
01/05/2023 10 containers C17 (2 seeds 'Helianthus Velvet Queen' per container) Location "Concrete slab itself side garden left'. No germination because of the slugs
26/05/2023 the same 10 containers C17 filled with 2 seeds 'Helianthus Velvet Queen'. Now there was full germination.
26/07/2023 9 containers C17 out planted location 'Side garden left Hill 1 drive'.
31/07/2023 1 container C17 out planted location Back Garden IV
01/12/2023 The 20 specimens 'Helianthus annuus Velvet Queen' are lifted as perished.
II. Input in IGPRO 6 with 'Split' works but a bug (see beneath):
1. In screen GA100S23 with 10 times 'Split' I have filled on 01/05/2023 10 containers C17 (each with 2 seedlings 'Velvet Queen') (see Case study screen 1 in annexe), namely:
  C17-24-6 with specimen 2023-440-10
  C17-25-6 with specimen 2023-440-6
  C17-26-6 with specimen 2023-440-7
  C17-27-4 with specimen 2023-440-8
  C17-28-4 with specimen 2023-440-5
  C17-29-3 with specimen 2023-440-2
  C17-30-3 with specimen 2023-440-3
  C17-31-3 with specimen 2023-440-4
  C17-32-3 with specimen 2023-440-1
  C17-33-3 with specimen 2023-440-9

Remarque GA100S23: Cost price 3.50€ for 42 seeds + Qty seed sown= 40 (namely 10x2 + 10x2)+ Specimens quantity left from 42-40=2
Batch reference HeliVlvt261
2. Because in the 'batch file' these specimens were 'living' under 'alive', I have given in 'death' at 26/05/2023 so that in the batch file 'living' disappeared under 'alive'
3. Afterwards I have filled these 10 containers (C17-24-6->C17-33-3) with 10 other specimens 'Velvet Queen' (with the help of 2022-440-1 garden location: Seed packet flowers)
; reason: the first 20 seedlings no germination because of slugs.
Specimens: 2022-440-2 -> 2022-440-11= the 10 other specimens (2 seeds each)
4. With the help of 'Edit container' I have 'potted out' the 20 specimens in the 10 containers, this at 26/07/2023' Side garden left HIll 1 drive' (namely 9 containers) + 1 container 31/07/2023 Back garden IV.
5. Finally at 01/12/2023 have I put the 20 specimens to "perished".

Ps. I have lefted 2022-440-9 and 2022-440-10 alive so you can test this (see batch file in my latest database of 20/01/2026). Why?
BUG= When you click on for example 2022-440-9 batch file (living) and you in screen GA100S23 click on 'specimen events' + then "add an event' and choose 'death 01/12/2023 + save->
the batch file indicates always that this specimen is still alive (=not correct). It is just when one give in the 'specimen profile' page GA100S23 click on 'perished' that in the batch file there is no longer indication this specimen is living (death= blanc space there)

III. Input in IGPRO 6 with 'use multiple pots' GA100S90-> impossible= one have to exit the program (see my earlier emails-
BUG=error:
Program name:- GA629/35
Error No:- 1734
Error Message:- Property FIRSTPOTNO is not found.
Line Number:- 30
Program Code:-
Program method:- GA100S90.ADDMULTIES

IV. CAN YOU FIX THIS PLEASE? Case study may be used at the forum or for the help screen you create

In annexe 2 screens (screen 2 with the 2 specimens 2022-440-9 and 2022-440-10 lefted for you to test it, namely 5 The batch file )
I will send you today also my latest database of 20/01/2026
Greets

UPDATE 1
Pot history:
The 10 first specimens of 2023-440-1 to 2023-440-10 (apart from 6 = well) are not potted out at 26/07/2023 (9times) and 31/07/2023 (1 time)

UPDATE 2
When adding for the SECOND time 2 Qty of a specimen (for example now by Helianthus annuus 4ruby' 2023-485-3 as second) IGPro give a warning screen (see screen 3 not in annexe). At the end the second qty of species is in the container (see screen 4 in annexe)
