George, I would like to take this opportunity (on behalf of all of our members) to award you the 'Gold Cup of Merit' (GCM) for the outstanding work you have accomplished over the years.

Not only in the development of such brilliant software for our gardening community, but also the dedication and help you provided to make this Forum a friendly and vital source of information to us all.

I have designed this award for the specific intention of acknowledging a unique achievement by an individual.

I hope you will accept this award in the spirit that it is intended.

Long may you continue to give us the benefit of your experience and enthusiasm.

Thanks for such words of encouragement and such a wonderful gesture.
I accept of course!

I was almost going to quote that TV idol and say

But, its not a job. Its truly a labour of love.

I'd like you all to know that I really do enjoy developing the software and all the projects which it entails.
Nothing pleases me more than to get feedback. Knowing that people out there are using the software means everything to me.
It's really nice when "customers" become friends. That gives my projects a whole new dimension and special meaning.

As for the forum:
I have to thank you folk for the success of the forum - and at last I feel it IS a success.
One person can NOT make a forum work. Its a community thing.
Thanks to the Forum Moderators for getting this off the ground. Its nice to walk into the forum nowadays and feel a warmth. Before, well - it was like a cold empty house!

Long may it all continue  :)
