Viburnum bodnantense 'Dawn'
This plant (which makes a large shrub) produces a beautiful flower in time for christmas
Nicely scented

It is when you consider that the chap who first found this hybrid, did not think it would have any garden value, There are others from the same pairnf, Charles Lamont and Deben. We have all three. The differences are slight, darker pink and almost white.

I have 'Dawn'as well. I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with the flowering power of my particular plant.
You've heard the saying "Bought as 'Dawn' ". I'm wondering if its not the genuine article.
I have to prune it back after flowering to keep it in check, to fit the allocated space where I have it sited. It would probably flower much better if left to go unchecked. What height is that specimen in the photo?
In actual fact, I now grow the plant for its beautiful crinkly foliage. It looks good in flower arrangements but the unripe growth tends to go limp in the glass. Perhaps Chrissie can give some advice on how to overcome that problem.
I dont like the smell of the foliage. Reminds me of boot polish.
Still the foliage looks real good on the actual plant! It stays :)
