These Livingstone Daisies have proved to be a winner this year. Not much good if you work from 9 to 5 though - they only open their flowers fully for a few hours each day :(
I haven't grown them for some time, thinking they needed full sun to open - something we don't get a lot of here in Ireland. Fortunately, they are much more accommodating, and open midday here even if its overcast.
Anyway, we had a birthday party over the weekend (more photos to follow) and even the non-gardeners were impressed by this display.
Here, its yours truly and young Odhran

Excuse my hideous gardening jumper - my wife tells me it clashes with everything ;D

Have you ever tried growing the perennial versions of Mesambrianthemums? The Delopserma tribe are mostly perennials and reasonably hardy. Easy to propagate too so hostages can be kept. The come in purples, pinks, white and yellows. there are about 100 species, but getting hold of more than a few of them is not easy, sadly.

I don't think I have Eric.
Are these the kind of plants you mean Eric?

Have you ever tried any of these?

Lampranthus are a bit more tender to my mind.

Thanks for that Eric, and a link to an exceptionally good website.
I'll bookmark that one :)
Ive a mere 4 entries in the Master Database for the genus Delopserma.
Are there any photos in the Photo CD's you sent me?

Possibly, there are a few which turn up at shows now and then. Not easy to put in a show as they close up unless in full sun. I have some pictures of mine from this year which I will eventually send to you.

Thanks Eric, I'll take a look later, and more will definitely be used.
I'm very much looking forward to getting back to work on Ideas Genie again!
