My wife and I are travelling to Manchester for a short break to visit our darling daughter Tara.
On Wednesday evening Tara and I are going to the Liverpool - v- Utrecht Europa League match.
Ive never been to Anfield before, but Tara has been a loyal (if not fanatical) supporter for years and has been to quite a few matches since she moved to Manchester. This is her Christmas treat to me :)
Then it will be Mothers turn to enjoy the Christmas shopping experience in Manchester.
On Friday evening we are all off to see The Pogues at Manchester Apollo theatre.
Tara and I are both BIG fans. I hope Shane is sober enough to put on a performance :D
More shopping on Sat? ::)
Ive decided I am going to spend a few hours in the gym and in the pool each day when I'm there - I'm piling on the pounds :o since gardening activities have made way for the computer work.
Home on Sunday.
The scary bit is that more snow is forecast for the end of the week :o
-
Have fun!
-
enjoy the rest
-
Thanks guys! Yes, I'm looking forward to it!

Home again safely - and very lucky to be so.
We had delays, but we learned that ours was the last flight before cancellations from Liverpool to Belfast International last night.
Then another hairy experience - 40 miles home in freezing fog. Even the Motorway had 30 mph hazard warnings all the way.
I feel so sorry for all those people who have been stranded at airports and on the roads.
And they call this global warming ::)
-
glad you made it home safe and sound, those poor people at the airports and now eurostar trains, whatever next, not heard anything about the ferries that is until the seas freezes over :o
-
They changed the title "Global Warming" to"Climate Change" some time ago, for obvious reasons. ;D
It goes on, you read about the Oceans that have been getting colder since 2002.
Also the carbon dust in the air that makes the snow at the poles of the earth blacker. Which makes the snow melt quicker.

Ah, Climate change.
Cant argue with that ;D
It must be warmer at the poles than here. No sign of anything melting around these parts
James was fascinated by the icicles from our shed. 18in or so. Ive never seen anything like it. I held him up to break some off and we had an icicle fight ;D
Are you folk getting around to your jobs?

Thats just about the worst shift you could have in these conditions Phil. Lucky you have that 4x4.
Take care!
I bet you are both looking forward to a break at Christmas
-
cant wait, for the wife it has been all overtime aswell every sunday night for 4 hours for the past 10+ odd weeks, but hey its rude to turn down double time ;D
-
Ive never seen anything like it.
Neither has my mum and she's just 116.
-
Blooming heck, thought my mum was doing well at 93. :o

Happy Christmas to you and yours, André.
What a gal your mum is :) The Belgian way of life must be good!
I think we should ask her for a few tips on how to take care of ourselves!
