Not sure of the last name, the label has disintegrated, could by S. melaina (or something like that).

Great pictures of nice plants Eric, the camera is working well, and of course the photographer  ;D

My comments exactly.
I find it VERY difficult to capture blue flowers with a camera.
Well done Eric!

From the photos, am I right in saying that the last two are taken in your Alpine house?
Are the others outdoors? My Chionodoxa (outdoors) are in bud but no flowers yet. Mind you they don't have the Valentines day tag :D Are they an early variety?

The Scilla are indeed in the Alpine house. mainly because they are small and that is the best place to see them. The last one is Scilla melaina. I found the list from the show where we bought them. C. Valentine Day is in  a raised bed. The ordinary ones are just beginning as are Pink Giant.
I shaded the flowers from the sun which helps. Otherwise I tend to take them after dark and use the flash.

I also us that shading technique. Mind you, here in Ireland theres usually an opportunity (most days) to take a photo when the sun is not shining :'(
Ive never tried using Flash after dark. Must give that a go this year.
Ive never succeeded to capture a good photo of Anemone blanda. Problem is it is at its best (fully open) when the sun is shining.
