Beautiful countryside Phil. Picture postcard stuff. What a lovely place to live.
Is the water running again?
-
still no water ??? and i went up their again today to try to unfreeze. with no joy as of yet, it took 2 hours to reach the house last weekend but we got down to -13 the other night so i reckon the pipe is also frozen underground somewhere luckily its proper plastic mains water heavy gauge so it should not burst, just a waiting game for thawing out, warmer today we have wet snow all day so far a good 4 inches
-
Enough is enough - I wish this cold spell was over. Its causing us all so much worry and anxiety, isnt it.
You are really suffereing Phil! Hope it thaws soon!
-
Well, the good news for us in the northeast of England is that it IS thawing - rapidly. :o
Although we've got strong cold winds, the snow is melting, and the forecast (at least for the next few days) is for sleet/rain, but no more heavy snowfall.
I hope this spreads to the rest of the UK, and we can get back to a bit more normality.
Laurie.

Our weather forecast is for more snow tomorrow Laurie!
We still have an inch or two here, frozen solid.
The main roads are clear, but the town and city councils are taking a real hammering because they have done nothing about the footpaths. They are very dangerous.
I hope your thaw radiates this direction!

we had a good 5 inches of snow last night, a couple of pics, note to ones self when its foggy dont use flash as the pics come out blue

We missed that snow further North Phil, thank goodness. We had slushy snow. Footpaths now even nore hazardous.
I went for a walk around 6pm.
Just went out to check outside. Footpaths and driveway have now frozen into a sheet of ice.
Phots look really good, Phil. I like the blue effect 8)

water, we have water yes i heard it this morning about 4.30 starting to fill up the attic tank, i have put a load of washing on for the wife already, aren't i nice ;D, its amazing how one commodity you take for granted everyday yet when you dont have it you learn to economise and make a 5 gallon barrel last all day, ok no washing machine or baths for 4 days but we got through, hopefully it wont freeze again, fingers cossed
