We have to go to a graduation ceremony tomorrow afternoon - Simons Masters degree (Law and Politics)
A lovely day out for all and especially a proud Mum and Dad!
I'm taking my camera so watch this space
-
Quite rightly proud - I'm sure you will have a wonderful day. Hasn't he done well. :)
-
Thanks Brian
Yes, just back home and it was a lovely day out. We had a meal in CoCo

in Belfast and a few drinks to celebrate the achievement.
By the time the ceemony ended it was very poor light for photography. Ive taken a few pics (flash) so it will be interesting to see what they came out like (tomorrow!)

A very proud occasion for you all.
Congratulations all around.
Laurie.
-
Thanks Brian and Kathy & Laurie.
Simon has been working very hard and deserves full credit. Needless to say, we are delighted.
He works for the Northern Ireland Assembly at Stormont Castle (our local Government). As a result of his success, he has taken up a new appointment as Trainee Solicitor in the legal department.
Politics was his favourite subject at school, and he has very much enjoyed working at Stormont. Previously he was assistant to the Clerk of the Assembly. This new appointment is as near as he can get to his perfect job - Law and Politics.

What a lovely photo George - one definatley for the scrapbook and for framing.
Brian
-
Yes, that might be the one for the frame, Brian.
It was taken by a professional photographer, a business client of Keelins.

I think my ex colleague did that impressive website.

Just seen this one George. These are always great and memorable family moments and you are quite entitled to feel very proud. Congratulations to Simon. He isn't having much difficulty in smiling! :)
-
Thanks Eric.
Smiling for photos. Now thats a very good topic. Nothing as bad as a forced smile in a photo, I say. Some people seem to be able to smile naturally for the camera and Ive noticed that Simon is always very good at that.
I'm the opposite. Smile please, don't blink and suddenly I need to blink.
I smile at something amusing, but by the time the camera has clicked the smile has waned a little ::)
Mind you, I'll be smiling when I get this new edition of Bank Genie is released! What a long project it has been.

well done and congratulations to simon, you must be very proud of him
-
Thanks Phil. Just as well it wasnt this week. Mary is under the weather with Flu symptoms :o
I'm in charge of cooking :o :o
-
Best wishes to Mary for a speedy recovery - especially in time for the Christmas festivities.
I'm in charge of cooking :o :o
YIKES!!!!!!!! :o
Laurie.
-
Thanks Laurie
I'll be practicing a few other skills this weekend.
Ironing, shopping :o
-
George: Sorry you are having to be chief cook and bottle washer too. I hope Mary gets well quickly and certainly well before Christmas.
-
Thanks Eric. Chinese takeaway for tea - just finished. This cooking is dead easy.
-
Come on George, if Simon can get his masters in law & politics surely you can get a good old Irish stew on the cooker! Chinese takeaway indeed - hope you enjoyed it anyway.
Congratulations - in particular to Simon, but such things take a lot of background support too so great job for all concerned.
Hope Mary's feeling better.
Merry Christmas!
Trevor
-
Thanks Trevor. I'd be the one in a stew if I attempted that kind of task ;D
Besides, I love Chinese food.
Mind you, I can do OK when its necessary!
I'm very pleased to say that Mary is now well enough to do the things that women do best (shes out shopping :: with Tara)
So far it hasn't been infectious :)
-
Phew - that was a close call George. Cooking AND shopping - that really would have been pressure for any bloke eh?!
Glad to hear that Mary is somewhat better.
-
I have a hand in that shopping chore. I carry the stuff from the car and put it away in the cupboards etc.
The boot was full! It took me ages to get it all stowed away.
Now we are ready for it - bring Santa on :D
