I can't remember how deep it was, Phil. This was February 2007. I will post two more photos taken that day

Peace on earth and goodwill to all men

Had to study your pic for a while Eric, the flowers looked like mini daffs but then I realised is was Jasminun nudiflorum (I think). Merry Christmas to everyone on the forum and a happy gardening year. I'm already looking forward to spring and to seeing the results of my planting changes.

You are quite right, Brian. A bit more recognisable here

Beautiful! Isnt it amazing how pristine those flowers are in such inclement conditions. Its a very valuable plant to offer cheer in the dead of winter! I have one on my front wall, and it peeps up and over the wall to cheer passers by.
Great photos Eric! Thanks for sharing.

Amazing quality Eric, and you are have a very apt description - natures pearls and diamonds.
How did you manage to get such perfect focusing? How did you keep warm enough to stop camera shake ;D

Thank you George.
How did you manage to get such perfect focusing?
I used automatic focus George but just with one central focusing point. I focused precisely on one of the gleaming jewels, kept the button half pressed then recomposed the picture.

Lovely shots Eric - would make better Christmas cards than the vast majority that are on offer! Truly and naturally magical.

I had an email from Jessie this morning wishing use a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
We had communicated before Chrstmas and I asked the question:
Quote
What do they do in Singapore at Christmas time?
Is it a holiday?

Heres a short extract from her reply, and I have asked Jessie to post it all. As always with Jessies crrespondence, it is heart warming.

All religions join in this joyous celebrations.
The main "High Street" - Orchard Road is closed to traffic
and deck up with all the Xmas decorations  Xmas

Heres a link in Jessies email which let you see the festivities.
