Title: Pieris forrestii
Post by: Lyn and Malcolm on March 07, 2009, 07:19:15 PM

We dont have many shrubs in our garden, and the ones we do,  have have to be grown like a standard. Why you may say? so the ground underneath can be used to grow other plants, how else do you think we can get so many plants into our small garden. ;D

The Pieris forrestii is flowering now and starting to grow the red new leaves which eventually turn green. The new shoots are prone to the frost catching them.

Here is a close up of the individual flowers that make up the floweing spray.
