How late is Spring this year
« on: April 07, 2010, 09:14:36 PM »
Well I reckon at least 3 weeks later than last year.

Indicators are the flower buds on the Malus "lollipop" tree, and the first Lily beetle, we have squashed 4 in the last week found on the Frittilaria imperialis 'Maxima Lutea'

No it is not a competition to find the Lily Beetle on the plant, there isn't one.

But do notice the double row of flowers.

It's a good 4 weeks at Bressingham, have not cut the grass at home yet, I think it will cut this weekend. I have daffodils that are only just in bud and others that are now fully open. Trees are just budding up.

It is now two weeks and a day behind last year, the lollipop tree (Malus) is just starting to open its flowers.
The recent warm weather has brought everything into growth.
