Query re: GA029S21

(1/1)

Trevor Ellis:
Probing around re-familiarizing with bits of the program that I've not used much for a while or even never used, I was in GA029S21 (can't remember what I did in it) but in the space under  'Add a Specimen', a new ' now you see me - now you don't' button appeared designated  '>: to last area'. Could you run through this aspect of the program please George. I'm intrigued since I can't remember seeing this before and perhaps there are other members who haven't encountered it.

Hmm

Cheers,

Trevor

PS
In GA100S23 What's the 'Use last' button for?

ideasguy:
The >: to last area in screen GA029S01
There are five display modes in that screen.
Starting at the left, you have This Genus then This Garden Area under the tab Plants in this database and garden
Click This Garden Area and select a Garden Area (lets say Bed 1).
Select a plant in the Garden Area - lets say it is Aster 'Pink Beauty'
Now click This Genus
All plants in the genus Aster are listed (and in this exercise you may select another Genus using the search boxes at the bottom of the screen.
That >: to last area button now becomes visible.
Select another Aster variety.
Click >: to last area
The selected plant is added to Bed 1.

The Use last button in Screen GA100S23
If you've been out shopping (lets say at Nursery A) and arrived home with a boot full of plants.
Add the first plant then add a specimen record for that plant. Click Get a Source (Nursery A) in screen GA100S23, fill in the other fields and Add.
Now enter your second "acquisition". When you get to GA100S23, click Use last - the Source (supplier) and other details are retrieved for reuse.

Trevor Ellis:
Thanks once again George. Mysteries solved.

Cheers,
Trevor

ideasguy:
Needs added to the User Guide Trevor, so don't mind explaining.
As you have said, I hope others will find that useful.
