That is a beautiful photo of your coral bark maple, Trish. I wonder if it will grow into a fine specimen like this  Acer Griseum, "paperbark maple" from central China in the Botanical Gardens, Edinburgh, taken in May 2004?

Oh that's the best picture I've seen of a griseum.  We have one which is doing well but nowhere near as 'adult' yet.  I think I have a recent pic  which I'll search for later.  It's been planted longer than the Coral Bark.  I'm currently trying to get all my old notebooks and scraps of paper and invoices together to gather information to add to my plant database on the ideasgenie and it's fascinating to see just how many years ago we acquired different trees and plants.  Maybe I should start a different topic though, about trees' bark ?
