Spring has sprung!

(1/2) > >>

ideasguy:
A few indicators this past week.

After a short period of bitterly cold weather its quite mild this past couple of days.

Ive spotted the Great Tits doing a bit of house hunting ;D
Today they actually went inside two of our bird boxes, so they must feel spring has arrived and its time to do what birds and bees do best :D

Brian from Shropshire phoned me today to upgrade his 6 month licence for Ideas Genie Pro 6 to a full licence. In our chat he told me that it was a lovely mild day in Shropshire and he and his wife were out for the first time this year doing some work in the garden and when they decided to record moving a plant to another area they discovered that their 6 month licence has expired. Guess they are like me - the garden and I take a rest over the deepest of winter months.

Have you folk started sowing seed yet?

Palustris:
One or three Snowdrops around.

ideasguy:
Indeed!!
It must have taken many years from them to put on a show like that Eric.

Did you plant large numbers or did they naturalise?
Have you ever grown them from seed?

Palustris:
These were here when we moved in . I have just spread them out since then.
These do not set seed, they seem to be a sterile hybrid. Never tired from seed, takes too long for the results.

Palustris:
Snow drops are supposed to herald the Spring, but I reckon these are as good.
