New Japanese Maples
« on: May 02, 2006, 02:20:19 PM »
I have succumbed to my annual addiction for new Japanese Maples
My additions this year are:
Trompenburg
Orangeola
Red Pygmy
Katsura (to replace a dead one ) :(
Chitoseyama
Kasagiyama
Burgundy Lace
The trees are smaller than I am used to buying, so I have been able to buy more than usual  :)
Pics as they unfurl their leaves (still a week or so away here)

Great news Billy

I have Trompenburg. It very easily distinguishd from other japanese maples, with its rolled leaves. Mine is a a good strong grower, and is actually leafed out, as of this past week. Always a relief to see them coming back!

I'll check your other acquisitions later
Where did you buy them?

Bought two in Maghera George, and the rest at Colemans
They have a good selection this year at prices from £20 to £40

Gosh! At £20 to £40 I'd be expecting them to be supplied and planted! The ones I bought were very small, and cost £7.50 each.

What height/spread are they? What age do you reckon they are?

Do Colemans or Maghera have a web site?
