Title: Cacti
Post by: ideasguy on October 30, 2013, 11:07:20 PM
I was speaking to a new Ideas Genie Pro user this evening and learned that he has a collection of Cacti.
He told me about this site:-
http://www.llifle.com/

I was quite astounded   8)
I had no idea there were so many Genera and so many varieties.

I had difficulty using the site with IE 10. Seemed OK when I tried again with Google Chrome.

I've invited Laurence to register on the forum ;)

Connection is ok with Firefox.

Connection was OK, Eric. It laboured to show details within Genus (as I recall :-\).
When I went back later, it worked with IE :-\ :-\

Interesting collection indeed George and, as you say, many varieties available.

I'm not a cactus lover, so don't have any to rave about.

However, if Laurence takes up George's invite to join the Forum it would be fascinating to see what his collection comprises.

The "thorns" are a bit scary on the ones (the few) we've had, but if you can manage to get them to flower they are simply beautiful.
I think I posted a message on the forum years ( ;D) to tell the story of one that had fell under the greenhouse staging and was (obviously) completely uncared for. I noticed the flower and rescued this dried up little plant.
The colours were vibrant and absolutely stunning.
I say rescued, but once I brought it up to the top of the staging and started to "care" for it, I killed it :'(
Hopefully Laurence will give us a few tips :D
