Title: We have ducklings

Today we spied mama duck out on the pond with three little ducklings
They must have been hatched in the Japanese Garden because they are still much too young to be able to fly
Mama and Papa duck take turns at looking after them
Cool eh? :)

Nice one Billy.  Great you managed to capture mama Mallard and her babies with your camera.

Unlike me 2 weeks ago.

I was just reversing out of my driveway at 7.30am this particular morning when a female Mallard and 8 of her chicks walked past along the footpath behind me.

She stopped a few feet further along the path, walked to the edge of the road and started to cross the main road.  Traffic came to an abrupt halt to let them cross.  Mama in front and chicks in a line behind her.  Thankfully they all crossed safely.

A few people stopped and looked on in awe, taking out their mobile phones and taking pictures of them.  Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me.

I never did find out where they ended up.

She looks like a really proud mother in that shot.  :)
