Lilium lancifolium var. flaviflorum

<< < (2/4) > >>

Palustris:
Hah! I found a snail sat right at the top of one of the ordinary Tiger Lilies this afternoon. munching happily on the flower.

ideasguy:
Glad its nothing personal from my little pests.
How do they manage to get up an 8ft stem to your lofty flowers :D
Ive found them on apples this year (on the tree of course) out on a limb as it were. I'm beginning to wonder if they have night wings :-\
I pulled one today. It had a hole, and inside was an earwig :o
I blame London 2012 (the Olympics) ;D

Palustris:
We have an Apple called Catshead. They are very large cookers which have a hollow centre. There is always a resident earwig in every one. Not a problem except that I feel about earwigs the same way as many ladies feel about spiders or snakes.

ideasguy:
 :o
Do they cause the hollow centre?

Palustris:
No, that is the way the apple grows, they just find it a convenient place to hide. Grief I am shuddering now!
