I "submitted " my 24 to the quizmaster and he tells me I got one wrong (20). In the meantime I got another one (nearly) and I think its correct second time around ??

I'm stuck on 4, 6, 14, 20 (got it wrong  ) , 22 and 26.

One whole day and managed one more - #22. Mind you, I was a bit apprehensive submitting my answer to the Quizmaster, but he replied:
Sho am!
Looks like I'll need a bit of lateral thinking, inspiration or guesswork for the others.
My grandson would have searched for a cheat sheet long ago!

Eric, just to let you know we haven't been ignoring your Quiz.

We've been busy with our labels business and other things.

Got about half answered up to now, so will send you the complete list once we've done it.

(Whisper) In a PM, our quizmaster has confessed to being a winner of a notable crossword competition! Easy for some!

There are a few tricky ones in that quiz!
It took the combined efforts of my colleagues (the entire IT department) to come up with a number of possible answers to:
#14 Blasted old prime minister.
Trepidly, I PM'd our 3 solutions to our quizmaster and asked if the correct answer was in one of the 3.
It was, and he gave another clue (in addition to the one he gave prior to that for the very same question) and now I can rest - the quiz is completed.

The other quizzes I have I think are much more difficult, since they need a knowledge of Latin names as well as common ones. They are also much more difficult to type in and post. Will have a think about another Quiz for next month, but don't hold yer breff!

Its a really good idea and if you get time and the garden allows, I'm looking forward to what else you've got in store!

Eric needs some encouragement for taking the initiative here, and by sending a PM, he'll know the seed hasnt fallen on stony ground.

I had a guess, and asked Eric in a PM if my first attempt was correct. Eric gave the hint about me being Irish. Penny dropped

That was a great quiz Eric. 

Since we sent you our previous effort, the only extra answer we'd been able to get was the one we'd originally got wrong - Q3.

Looking at all the answers now, we can see how they make sense, but at the time we couldn't get some of them.

I thoroughly enjoyed the quiz, and thanks for posting it Eric.
It was very well thought out by the person who complied those questions. They ranged from fairly simple to downright tricky!
When you get the simple ones, thats enough. You are hooked 
You take the bit between your teeth (and old horse age saying?) and dont give up!
I spend a few bus trips on a few of them. Mind you it was nice to be able to ask you if an answer was correct (in a PM) and get the odd tip now and again 

I'd like to hear from the other members. Did you give it a try?
