Out in the garden
« on: February 10, 2009, 12:29:20 PM »
At last managed to go and do some work. Dug up the last of the parsnips (for freezing for future use. ) They get canker and start to gorw again if left any longer.
Began cutting down the Clematis group 3's. Did 12 of them before my I had a problem with my arthriti toe. Came in to put some stuff on it and the cat pinched me sock!

Now it looks very much like rain, so will have to hurry lunch and go out again to do the other 30 Clematis. I cut them down to the ground, but what do other folks do?

Group 3's yes, Eric - we cut down to the ground.

Group 2's cut only so far down, and Group 1's not at all.

We don't have many Clematis but the few we do have are Group 3.

Being further north than you are, Kathy will not be cutting hers back until next month.

Laurie.

Nice dramatic rainbow shots there Phil.

Now all you have to do is go to each end of the rainbow and dig up the pots of gold.  :D

Never got back out after lunch. I started to water the Alpine house and had a major attack of an inner ear [problem and spent the rest of the day lying down watching the rom go round and round. It is rather like being very drunk without having the pleasure of getting there!
Try again tomorrow.
