Thanks Phil

Use Show Cart to get into GA040S06 .
Click on a plant.
Click Change Quantity
The list width changes, to reveal other fields and buttons.

Does anything there look like your white line?

Ayone else seeing this white line?

No cant see it their and i have moved my mouse all over the screen

this white line is only visible when you move your curser in the correct place about 1cm away from the R on the ADD item to this ORDER button in the Add to my MAIL ORDER i can not see it in the Show Cart, it is more of a greyey than a white line

All testing done successfully.

(a) OK
(b) OK
(c) OK
(d) OK
(e) OK
(f) OK (Microsoft Outlook).

Don't get the white or grey line that Phil is experiencing on GA040S06 or any of the other screens navigated in the Gower catalog during this test.

Laurie.

Thanks Laurie (especially for your time during your other projects!)
It may not be apparent, but Ive been working continually on that set of programs (mostly FGA040) since the last Catalog download & challenges were set.
Hope it proves useful to users and Nurseries.

I'm at a loss as to what to do about that "ghost" line Phil is seeing. Need a lot of feedback to see if its widespread.

Were you using Vista Phil?

Thanks Eric and Phil
Looks like a Vista thing. At present I have no solution.
Is it a broad line? e.g. does it look like the ghost of a vertical scroll bar?
I need to get onto a Vista machine to test this properly.

Thanks again Eric & Phil
Thats a good screenshot, Phil.

Question: Does the line disappear again when you move the mouse past that region, and re-appear when you mouse over it?

If you want something really weird. If you move the mouse up the line it goes behind the Order box!

I really wish I could help you on this one George.  :(

However, it seems to be a 'Vista' anomaly and our 3 PC's all have Windows XP, which does not manifest this strange occurrence.

Guess what

Just curious, tried it here on xp machine, and it does do the same thing  ;D  ;D  ;D

No kidding

And if you follow the line DOWN with the mouse, a small checkbox appears with a tick in it. And the white line dissapears. Even more "features" George,

So that may help George in de bugging it, not that I am worried about it.

Edit

Had another look and you can get another box appear if you continue UPWARDS past the end of the line. This is definately a scoll box problem  ::)

Can you please retry see if it is the same on XP and Vista.

It gets more curious by the minute.  ???

Definitely a 'challenge' for you here George.

This is just not consistent.  Vista PC's first (which seemed to indicate the area to focus on), and now a different XP PC.  ::)

Laurie.

P.S.  I'm definitely not getting it Malcolm.

Laurie

So if you put your mouse over the "This is a substitute" text and move the mouse slowly to the right, past and beyond the text, you don't get this line ?

you mean this little box (sorry george) but with your knowledge and my pics and evryone else help we shall  sort it

which i had not even noticed before

Seriously though thinking back when chiltern catalog was uploaded i did not get this line, it has only been since th gower catalog has been updated, and it is also affecting the imberhorne and chiltern catalogs aswell, could it be something to do with the GA040 itself ? does any one else get the line in the other catalogs ?, if i put my mouse pointer on the add item to this order button there is no line it is only when you go out of the button box

George is going doo-lah!

Just so you know.
When you add a new plant to order you get to screen GA040S14
When you View Cart, you get to one and the same screen.
Note the entirely different appearance. Lots of controls (buttons, check boxes etc)  and that scrollable list!! are hidden

Next:
When you are looking at your shopping cart list in GA040S14, then click Change Quantity.
Once again, some controls are hidden, some controls are moved to a new location, some controls are resized (once again, that scrollable list)

Those controls "ghosting" as whats known In the "trade" as a memory leak.
Currently its nothing like the frustration leak I'm having!

Incidentally, lots of screens in IG Pro etc use the same programming techniques e.g. hiding buttons until required.
e.g. In lots of screens, when you edit, a Save Changes button appears. Its normally hidden.

Just to add to this, and following on from what Phil asked, I have gone through all the catalogs that George has created - all of which are still installed on my XP PC's, and I don't have any problems with errant lines appearing.

Thanks for checking your end Laurie it was just a thought i had,

george i feel realy sorry for you, you worked so hard on the catalog to find this annoying line, it does not detract from the use of the catalog as everything worked fine when i did the test for you, adding to order etc, hope you get to the bottom of the problem, if you need anything checking on vista pc just shout
