Title: Language Sets
Post by: ideasguy on December 15, 2006, 12:19:23 AM
Ive done (al lot!) more work on this recently.
The feature has always been potentially available. Ive developed a new programming method to make it much easier to deliver the translations on screen. A set of Translation programs have been available for some time - (Frodo and the fellowshiphave been busy?)

When you run programs, you'll find a flag in screens which are Bi-lingual.
Its optional. You can switch flags off.

Languages in ALL the Genie stable come in what I term Language Sets:
Thanks to Andre (alias Frodo), the current Language Set is
English - Dutch (and if you are like me and didnt know before I bumped into Andre, Dutch is spoken in both Holland and Belgium)
We can also have
English - German
English - Spanish
etc
In each language set - one language is English

How it works - a tour:
If you have an English - Dutch language set downloaded:
In Preferences - GA198
Set Show Language Flags to Yes (Two Flags will be visible)
Initially these are a UK flag= English and a Netherlands flag= Dutch
The Change Flags button allows you to choose the flags.
e.g. You may prefer to display a US flag when English Language is showing.
You may also prefer to show the flag of Belgium when Dutch language is selected.
Click English radio button.
Save changes - Exit GA198

Start GA037. You should see a Union Jack flag .
Click on the flag - Text on buttons changes to Dutch ( on a few buttons beside the flag )
Click again - Union Jack appears - Text changes back to English
Its a toggle action. Only one flag visible at any one time. Takes up less "real estate"

How to get this working:
Download the latest updates as described in the Whats new --> Full screen display for IG Pro topic

English-Dutch language is what you've been using (for English speaking countries + Holland and Belgium)
English-Deutsch language set has now been published (ALSO for English speaking countries + Germany and Switzerland)
