Title: Plants with your name
Post by: ideasguy on June 01, 2009, 04:38:23 PM
Came across this today:
Achillea Anthea
http://www.cornwallgardens.com/perennials.htm
Small light pale yellow flowers in large heads above fronds of silvery foliage
Thought it might be of interest to one of our members  ;)

To our members. Have you found a cultivar with your name, or members of your family?

That's a very interesting challenge you've set us there George.

Definitely some research to be done on that one.  :D

Hey, we'll let you away with that one Eric!
How about Acer negundo 'Kelly's Gold'?

Good find there Malcolm. Must have a look tomorrow to see if I can locate a supplier of Ovens Cypress for you :)

Yes, their plants are reasonable Malcolm. Unfortunately, the shipping cost is a bit high to get to me in N Ireland.

Have you found anyone who sells your named plants Laurie?

Achillea 'Anthea' raised by Alan Bloom named for his daughter Anthea.
Introduced in 1982 it was selected for it's compact habit and silvery foliage colour.
We have some newer ones from the USA which I will add to the web pages as they become available.

I didnt realise that I had posted the same plant earlier, Eric.
However, I didnt know then that it was one of the plants that Paul had trialled.
Heres the WPG list again:

I'm looking forward to seeing the new additions which Paul has to add.

Well, the good thing is, its drawn our attention back to it again and (new knowledge to us since the first posting) it is now more of an integral part of the forum since it is one of Pauls plants.
Now then, who will be the first to say - AH, Ive got that one growing in my garden ;)
