Bank Genie Version 6

ideasguy:
Finally!!!! Bank Genie Version 6 has been revealed.
I'm pleased to say it has many new features. The one which took longest to develop - no need to guess - was Investments.

As of date of posting, Bank Genie Version 4 is in use by most users.
Some users with requirements for some of the latest features were allowed to download the new version in its "midway" state which I labelled Bank Genie Pro 5. Since development had taken so long (and I knew it was going to be a lengthy process) Bank Genie Pro 5 was offered without Investments.

To avoid confusion I have named the new release as version 6.
As of date of posting, Bank Genie Pro 6 is available, replacing Bank Genie Pro 4 and 5.
Bank Genie 6 (replacing Bank Genie 4) will follow in the next couple of weeks.

Development of Investments was the single most complex project I have undertaken.
It required intensive research into the wonders of Finance and the many forms of Investments.
I appealed to customers who were interested in Investments to export Portfolio data from the software they were using to manage their Investments (e.g. MS Money and Quicken) and share them to help me develop the software.
I'm delighted to say the response was very food. Without those sample QIF file exports I could not have developed the changes to the Bank Genie Import program, the Investment program and related features.

It took 4 years of development (on and off) to reach this notable landmark (now you know why I haven't been adding much to the forum recently).
I'm pleased to say, feedback from the beta testers has been good!

If you have any older version of Bank Genie you can read about Whats New and upgrade on this page:

Keep revisiting that page - I have more to add!
The import and upgrade program will work for any older version.

If you don't have Bank Genie you can get your copy of the latest version on this page:

barryl:
yes indeed. Happy user :-)

ideasguy:
Thank you Phil. I have replied by email.

 - and thank you Barry. Nice to hear that from my mentor :)
I have you to thank for helping shape Bank Genie
You were chief consultant and chief test engineer for 3 years while I developed the humble Bank Genie 3 into the all powerful Bank Genie 4 and Pro 4.

I have you and so many others to thank for helping me over the 4 years to get it to Bank Genie Pro 6.
Many users provided their portfolios to help me develop and test along the way.
I will put an acknowledgements list on the Bank Genie website when I get a chance.

If I am happy with BGP4 do I need to upgrade?
