Ideas Genie Pro > The Web Page Generator (WPG) section
Embedding links in the WPG introduction page
(1/1)
ideasguy:
Since you edit the Introduction in a normal text editing window (in screen GA032S05), Ideas Genie Pro has been programmed with a special feature to allow you to enter a live link to an external website.
We shall do this by way of example as a special for Paul (NewPlantsGuy) as I promised I'd show how it was done.
Paul has a link (URL) in his introduction to:
www.bloomsofbressinghamplants.com
Adding http:// to that we get the full URL:
http://www.bloomsofbressinghamplants.com
Thats the link.
In a web page it looks best if it reads like this:
Blooms of Bressingham Plants
Lets refer to that as the (Web Page) Text
To do this:
a) you precede the URL with <WWW>
b) you separate the URL from the Text with <>
c) You add a suffix at the end of the text </WWW>
The text in the introduction then looks like this:
<WWW>http://www.bloomsofbressinghamplants.com<>Blooms of Bressingham Plants</WWW>
When you click the button to generate your web pages, IG Pro deciphers the code and activates the link, as expected by visitors.

Thank you for this George, I'm sure it is a useful tutorial to us all, I certainly will use it as a reminder. :)
I need of course to do some updating, there never seems to be enough hours in a day at the moment.
Paul.

I know how you feel!
With the garden, theres no such thing as spare time :D I could easily work at it full time.
I havent worked with the WPG program for a while, so that was fun!
I upgraded the hosting package recently. Theres now 1GB of web space on the ideasforgardens.net website, so loads of room for your updates, and new projects folk!
