Title: Storm Doris
Post by: ideasguy on February 23, 2017, 05:17:37 PM
Doris reached a peak at about 6 am here in N Ireland with raging wind and rain belting off the windows to wake us from our slumbers.
Not much damage fortunately - it blew over a trellis and an arch in the garden and a few pots "repositioned".
It began to calm down after midday.
I was very relieved that we had our ridge tiles fixed more securely in December last.

From the news today it reached mainland UK a few hours later, and some Northern areas has snow :o.
Batten down the hatches folk!

Certainly no joke here in Cambridge. Not much rain (that was the previous day - a 24 hr downpor) but a lot of wind.

Large trees came down across the region; our bins went "walkies"; there was a report of a "flying trampoline".

Lot of info and good pictures here

I went past the Victoria Avenue tree just before the police closed the road

Couple of fence posts broken, but no major damage. Lots of twigs down along the lane, but no trees.
