collecting old gardening books

(1/1)

roiphil:
as a pass time i collect old gardening books my oldest one and prized posesion is gardening illustrated 1884 by w robinson its a weekly journal from march 1 1883 to march 1 1884 hard back, does any one else have old garden books

Palustris:
One or two!. The problem now is that the old gardening books I would like to own are beyond the depth of my pockets. Still we keep searching and every now and then we find them.
I now have over 13 metres of shelf space filled with Gardening books!
Much more fun to read about gardening than actually go out and do it!

greenfinger:
You're making me curious about the titles and gardensubjects of these books. I have a few metres of them myself. One day I probably will make a bibliography of the gardenbook section in my library. Perhaps a suggestion for George to add a few more fields in his software: I think about place and date of the edition, number of pages, illustrations, description of the copy itself, its condition a.s.o.

Palustris:
We have a list of the books, Tittles and Authors, but not any other details. This is kept purely for making sure we do not buy a book for a second time.
