Gnarled Oak in Borrowdale

(1/1)

Eric Hardy:
Laurie’s trees in the New Forest reminded me of a gnarled oak we found in Borrowdale when we visited The Lake District in May 2004. I thought I would add it to the collection. I was intrigued by the abstract patterns and took several detailed shots.

That certainly is one beautiful gnarly tree Eric  >:(

Another thing about the various tree formations is that you start to see other shapes in them.

It seems inherent for human beings to see faces or animals in different objects.  It's interesting to study the trees we are submitting here and see what other patterns develop.  Or maybe just enjoy them for what they are - nature at its finest  :D

I agree, Laurie, in the fourth shot down I keep seeing a turtle's head peaking out from its shell  :)
