Plus ice

Now if that flower can produce scent under those conditions, I want one!
Very nice Eric! Post a photo when it opens those other blooms please! Hopefully (for the sake of you and the plant) the ice will have melted by then!

Palustris:
The shrub is 8 feet tall and 3 feet across. The scent is noticable half the garden away.
Sadly the flowers tend to open one by one rather than all at once.
Expensive shrub too, that size 250 quid?  plus!

Last year we had things blooming earlier than the norm. Cant see that being the case this year! What is its flowering period, Eric
I imagine it lasts longer since those flowers open one at a time.
I'm impressed with your review of the power of the scent of that plant.
I have to confess, I havent ever noticed a Daphne in my local garden visits. I'm now on the lookout! I have to get a whiff of that scent!

Palustris:
Flowering period is mid January onwards until March. Sadly it does not berry like some of the other Dpahnes.
Most if not all of them a very strongly scented, certainly the garden easy ones. D. mezureum is the easiest to get hold of. That is in flower now to and comes in white, pink and ,deep pink.
If the birds leave the berries I will try to remember to send you some. They need sowing as fresh seeds, but even then they are not reliable.
