Camellia's in Leuven (Belgium)

(1/1)

greenfinger:
I tried to visit the botanical garden of Leuven early this year. These camellia's were flowering today.

Good to hear from you again my friend!!

This is a little bit of a coincidence. Just yesterday, we talked about going to Lady Dixon Park (Belfast) for a walk on Sunday afternoon - my (slightly selfish) reason being to take the camera and get a photo if any Camellias were in bloom!
You beat me to it!!

Very nice photos André and thanks for posting them.
I dont think Ive seen Madame Lourmand before. Is it the first time youve seen it in bloom?

Weve a few new members since you visited last, so for their benefit, I'll place this link to your Ideas Genie Pro generated website:

Do you feel up to creating a new one for 2008 at Leuven?

greenfinger:
Yes, George, good to be back. :) :)
If my memory is good there are about 37-38 Camellia's in our botanical garden and I missed some of them last year.
Now I visited them a few weeks earlier than in 2007 and there she was: the glorious Madame Lourmand.
Nice idea you made that link to the camellia - article. First I'll have to add the missing species and cultivars to make it complete. A fine opportunity for the forum members to sharpen their knowledge of the Dutch language ;)
And then, yes, we'll find another topic for the WPG!

ideasguy:
THATS ma boy!
Great to see Frodo volunteering again  ;D ;D
