A new toy for Christmas?
« on: December 18, 2005, 01:42:06 AM »
This is one of the projects that has been keeping me busy for a while.
Ive included a few new features made possible by new programming techniques that I have picked up.

Its a fun package. Its original intention was to provide software to allow "informal plant names".
It's Ideas Genie in reverse, as I have gone back to the way what you know as Ideas Genie was 12 years ago when it was a
small program on my computer (and I used to have time for gardening).

Read about it here:

Support web site here:

Download here:

IMPORTANT: Please be sure to have a read over the the download instructions.

Congratulations Lee and Harry

Lee was the first Flower Genie customer, but had to wait a few days while I put it through a test and debug process. Three friends installed it and tried all the programs to see if they could "break it". They found the bugs, I took their notes, fixed the bugs, new copy next day. Test again.
6 goes later, no errors reported. Significant dates for the new calendar.
I sent out the first 2 CD's on Tue the 20th Dec 05, one to Scotland, one to England.
The first CD flew across the atlantic to the USA to Lee on Wed 21th Dec 05.

Harry was the first to actually SEE and USE Flower Genie. I published the file on Wed night 22nd, Harry downloaded it on Thursday morning, and had it up and running in no time.

A BIG week. Mind you, since 21st was Winter solstice, I had longer to work at it on the longest nights of the year.

NOTE: I will be making minor (I hope they are minor) mods for a week or two. If you've got a CD or a download, look out for updates on the "Flower Genie on the Web" product support website. Updates are free.

UPDATE!
The download seems to be working well. Already Flower Genie is popping up all over the world.
Edna in Florida has sent me a few excited emails, making all the hard work worthwhile already!
Jessie (aka 3fren) has it up and running in Singapore.
