G'Day All

My name is Greg Elton and live in Adelaide South Australia.

This is my first post except for the introduction of myself a while back.

My main gardening interest now is growing herbaceous perennials from seed.  I have only been doing this since late winter (August) and am have some success. I have a lot of potted up plants ready to be planted out but it has been too hot.
I have many deciduous trees which should provide shelter from our hot summers. Today it is forecast to be 44C.  If it does reach this it will be hottest December on record.

The reason for the post is to share a photo of a visitor to our garden. Koalas come from the reserve behind our house to find a cool spot to shelter from the summer heat during the day and at night to return the feed on Eucalyptus leaves. Eucalyptus leaves make up  almost their total diet.

The second attachment is a photo of the eucalyptus tree at the back of our house from where the koalas come from.

Other wild animal we see are many species of birds including parrots, Cockatoos and Lorikeets,  many lizards, Echidna and although not for a few years now, brown snakes.

Kind Regards
Greg

A lot prettier than the visitors we often get and probably less damaging too!
