Investments
« on: June 10, 2015, 11:18:49 AM »
Hi, I have been using Bank Genie for a few years now but am still waiting for the ability to include investments.
I have to keep a very old computer with Windows XP and "Money 98" running just to keep track of investments.
I've tried to create a spread sheet but after a few months it becomes very unwieldy.
Please can we have some news on when this feature will be included.
Everything else is fine & works well.
Thanks

Hi John

The Bank Genie Pro 5 project to include Investments will be resumed in late August 2015.
I apologise to all users who, like you, who are waiting on this feature.

Keep an eye on the forum for news and progress.
Bank Genie Pro 5 is under way and a number of forum members - "the team" - have been testing it as it evolved.
It has some new and very useful features already.
Heres a summary of "Whats new".
http://www.bankgenie.net/support-BankGenie5/whatsnew.html
It needs revision (as of 10/6/15) as there are some other things to add.
e.g. Ive added new import features for statement downloads from Santander (which seems to be flavour of the month with new users).

The number of users are restricted as the testing process involves frequent uninstalling and re-installing due the number of database structure changes which are necessary to deliver other features.

I had to leave full time work on that project due to the urgency of another project, but as in the case of the Santander extension, I do some additions quite regularly..

it is already quite stable. I use it live as do a few others.
I'm looking forward to resuming Investments :)
