Deleting Accounts Functionality - (Test Result)
« on: April 28, 2013, 06:28:49 AM »
Hi George,

When I delete an account from BS403S01, a pop-up 'Information' window appears instructing me to click on the 'Delete' button in the next window. Unlike all other pop-up windows (that I've discovered so far), this one automatically disappears before revealing BS403S02. Having different functionality on this pop-up window is confusing and unexpected and causes an unnecessary mouse movement.

Sorry if I've posted a test result in the wrong forum

Mike

Yes, that one has "history" Mike.
In the early days of my Gardening Software developments, the initial screens had Add and Edit. I had a number of support questions as some users didn't know they had to click Edit to get to the Edit screen and click the Delete button on that second screen.

As you can see, I don't like the "bang its gone" type Delete - anywhere.

In the initial screen, Edit and Delete do the same thing. They take you to the Edit screen
When you click Delete, you get that message.
Its a standard Dialog box used throughout the system.

My Tip to Experienced users:-
Click the Edit button to bypass the message. Click Delete in the Edit screen

Yeah, I get that George, but the self-destroying pop-up is counter-intuitive. I haven't come across any other pop-ups that act this way, but then I'm not totally au fait with the whole app
