buds on trees
« on: December 30, 2010, 02:23:03 PM »
Finaly got round to planting those bare root laurel bushes that arrived the day we had snow  ::), noticed buds on a blackcurrant bush that i planted at the bottom of the garden to fill in a hedge gap and also spotted buds on poplar tree, no doubt if we have a good strong frost it will kill them

Blackcurrants are pretty tough, Phil. I doubt if the frost will kill them. After all, they have already survived the ice age of this past few weeks.
Blackcurrant is my favourite jam (equalled by Damson). Most of our family love Raspberry jam.
Picking the fruit is tedious, but very much worthwhile.
