Multiple garden records
« on: July 17, 2010, 08:32:53 PM »
I look after several gardens and wish to record each of them in IGP as I would my own. There's input for any number of gardeners in the program but not (unless I'm missing something) for any number of gardens. I've solved this for the present by inputting my name several times in 'Gardeners' but each with the name of a garden e.g. for instance the name of the property after my name. This isn't a problem but I just wondered if that's the best way of working or if there's a better way. Any thoughts anyone?

Regards

Trevor

George will be the best person to answer that one Trevor, when he gets chance to look in on the Forum.

Just to let you know so you don't think you're being ignored  ;)

Laurie.

We've been out for the evening folk - just got to reading this now.
In IG Pro, Gardens= Gardeners, Trevor. You'll see the examples in the Master Database.
Its really how you interpret the description.

Be aware that the plants and photos in a database are shared.
You can add the same plant to any garden, of course, as many times as you like.
You can use the Title and description for Photos to identify in which Garden/Gardener they were taken.

You can also create a separate database for each Garden/Gardener
However, in that case, you have to maintain the plant list and information independently.
For that reason, I prefer to keep all Gardeners in one database.

Thanks Laurie/George,

I thought that was the way to do it and it works fine of course. Just checking in case of future hiccup potential.
Hope you had a good night out George.

Cheers,

Trevor
