Mothers day

My bro sees himself as a bit of a historian and journalist. He wrote this article last year and had it published in local weekly tabloids.

I dont know how he managed to recall all that stuff.

I took the photo of my Mum on a lovely day in June 1990, and its nice (for me of course) to bring it up on the screen from time to time.
She had a great sense of humour.
I managed football teams before taking up gardening. We used to get beat (a lot) in the early days.
When I visited my Mum, she used to ask...
How did your team do today?.
Came second, Mum.
Thats good! was her reply.

Another story I bore the "kids" with goes like this.
I used to watch the football on TV when I visited my Mum.
No chat, so this was her witty attempt to get my attention on one such evening.
Football in full flow, cameras on the players, crowd singing "Here we go, here we go", "You'll never walk alone..." whatever...
Mum, droll as always says:
"How do they do that?"
"Do what?"
"How do they sing like that when they are playing?"

She liked to see us laugh and smile. It worked!
