George,

I've added the plants to the labels in the correct manner as you have described.

I've just repeated the process by adding two different plants.

After I've added the second one I then need to edit the data.  So, I want to edit the top one first, but the cursor is still in the second box being the last one added.  Clicking on the top box immediately changes both names to the plant that is in the top box.

Now, if after adding the two different plants in the same manner I leave the cursor in the second plant box as this is the last one added and click EDIT.  I get screen GA048S08 and can add details as required.

If I then click in the top box I immediately get a message box appearing (see screenshot below).

If I click ignore, screen GA048S08 appears and I can add plant details.  However, instead of clicking the IGNORE button on that message box and click CANCEL it completely shuts down IG Pro.

Laurie.

It doesnt matter where the cursor is Laurie, and you dont have to select a plant before clicking Edit.
You simply click edit and you get to GA048S08.

Only click the boxes in the template to Add or change the name of the plant in that label position.
RIGHT click to blank out a label position.

RE: The Subscript is outside defined range message with Ignore and Cancel options.
Now that IS a bug. I will fix that later this evening.
Meanwhile, Click Ignore if you get it.
ALL: To avoid it happening, click a line in the list on the right in screen GA032S02 before touching a Label in the mock up template on the right

Test three successful George.

Following your suggestion of not needing to click on one of the boxes with plant data before you click EDIT, I entered two different plants and clicked on EDIT.  GA048S08 screen appeared with one of the plants displayed.  I entered some data and SAVED it.
Automatically after clicking the SAVE button, the second plant I had entered appeared in screen GA048S08.  I again entered the data and clicked SAVE.

I got no warning boxes or any other problems throughout using this procedure.

To me, its a natural process to highlight / put your cursor on something you want to edit first, then click on an EDIT button.  I don't know if there's a way of allowing label editing to occur this way George, or to put a little message on this screen advising people not to click the plant label before editing it.  Otherwise, you have one more thing to remember if we're not guided through to remind us.

Laurie.

Thanks for the feedback Laurie.
Everything youve stated is exactly the behavior Ive written into the program (e.g. advancing to next Plant when you click Save in GA048S08)
Any suggestions on how to make it easier for a new user?

NEW:
The label format has changed in Version 22
Its now designed to print Portrait photos (Photos with Height bigger than width).
It will work with Landscape photos of course, but it wont fill the allocated space you have for the photo.
To get the biggest possible image printer, use a Portrait image.

Please note that this label template is for a special label stock used by Toby (bossgard)
I will do a new label template, designed for Landscape images for Orion #311 54LC.

When all the issues have been resolved, I will also do two new templates (Portrait and Landscape) to print labels on A4 (UK/Europe) size

One tip:
When using Sources for Text in GA048S08
a) Click into a text region
b) Click one of the buttons under Sources for Text

The Text you select is inserted into the text region you select in (a)

If you keep the data entry procedure as it stands at the moment then, as I mentioned above, some sort of message on that screen to stop people from automatically selecting either box before editing, just so they are aware of this procedure.

Yes, can do something on those lines.
I'm really pleased that our valiant members are giving this a go.
Much more to come using that program, but we will get to that in due course.

I'm still trying to earn my crust here, Malcolm.
In your game, if they all had new machines, they wouldnt need servicing. In my case if everyone was an IT expert I wouldnt have a job.
I suppose we need to be grateful  :)

Registering that ActiveX (thats its fancy name) is not too difficult with XP.
On Vista, as always, its much more complex  :'(
Matter of interest - do you have Microsoft Office on your computer?

A lot of the "New" machines won't last much more than about 2 years, too much cheaply made  electronics in them.
Been to 2 this morning where the electronic board has failed. Both not worth repair, one was 3 years old.

The price manufacturers charge for these pcb's is ridiculous.
One big problem for anyone working in this trade including me, is if you diagnose the pcb as being faulty, annd order a new one, once the box is opened it can't be sent back.

A lot of the new machines need a laptop and manufacturers software to diagnose faults, and in some instances to reprogramme eeproms as they are supplied blank.
I tend to steer clear of those machines, have only 4 years to go, by then nothing will be repaired.

You asked about M/S office. I only have Word and Excel, and they are not current editions.

It will soon be time to go home George, if you haven't left already ;D

I used to fix our washing machine any time it broke down. For some reason it seemed to do that on the first day of my 2 weeks holidays in one particular job back in my days as an engineer.  Without having the diagnostics equipment, it was difficult to tell what was wrong!

Interesting about WORD and Excel, thanks Malcolm.
Cant make any conclusions since WORD obviously work with Rich Text (Bold Italics etc) ::)
I have a download almost ready. Later this evening all being well.

Oh dear, I feel very lazy but this discussion is a bit beyond me at the moment. I am VERY impressed by the way George develops these programmes. Forgive me if I just stay in the background for the moment  ;)

The FIX to the richtx32.ocx problem

Phil: Please wait until Malcolm has installed this and is up and running.
If he reports that all is OK, then have a go using the same process described below.

Try this Malcolm:
Download this:
http://www.ideasgenie.com/updates-igpro/richtext-dl.exe
Click Run (not save)
During the installation process, look for the dialog box with the title:
Location to save files
Click the Change button and select your Desktop
Continue.

When finished, look on your desktop for this file:
gkrichtext.msi

NON VISTA USERS
Double click on it.

VISTA USERS
Right click on it
Click Run as Administrator

In both cases, it does its job in a flash (but it took me all day to put the "ingredients" into it)

Then start GA048 and see if allows you to proceed to the screen with the richtext (GA048S08).

Afterwards, delete the file on your desktop.
